Travel Edition 1, Rainbow Falls & Turtle Back Falls

My Travel Date: July 2016 & September 2016

I AM GOING TO START OUT BY SAYING THE HIKES CAN BE DANGEROUS IF YOU ARE NOT CAREFUL. PEOPLE HAVE LOST THEIR LIVES AT THIS LOCATION. PLEASE BE SMART. PLEASE BE CAREFUL. REMEMBER FHE LOST. ALL BLOGS ATR MY EXPERIENCE, MY OPINIONS AND INFORMATION IVE FOUND WITH SITES TO REFERENCE (SEE AT THE BOTTOM OF THE POSTS).

So!

Two travel dates? YES ABSOLUTELY.

I enjoyed the falls that much that I went more then one time. Psst, that might be a sign that I totally recommend this (as long as you’re safe).

So to start off with, I did this hike with a friend and my stepmom, at two different times.

The hike is more on the difficult side. I would say that the hike is mostly uphill on the way up the hike. Downhill? Aka what I’m calling the way back down.. way easier but you also might be putting a lot on your knees.

The research I found on rainbow falls is below (but of course as always I put the references of my information below)

– Rainbow falls is “one of the tallest waterfalls in the region”

– Height, 125 feet

– “Trail length, 1.5 mile” (I do believe it’s 1.5 one way)

Here are a few photos of me taken by friends, family and photos I’ve taken of rainbow falls!

Looking at these photos I hope others can take in the breath taking views like me! I did venture down too the bottom of the falls area, I will say that it isn’t easy getting down there. If your going to this I will say like always, BE SAFE.

Above Rainbow Falls is Turtle Back Falls!

Turtle back falls is “around a 10-15 foot plunge due to the shape of the rock”. A lot of people come to this location and slide off of the famous rock! I was told by frequent fliers to be very careful not to get sucked down to the rainbow falls, the people that told me stated it could be dangerous and potentially deadly. Again, just what they told me while I was there.

Turtle back falls is around .25 miles above Rainbow falls.

This is a video of me going off Turtle back falls myself! As an adrenaline lover it was exhilarating.

I will of course say, this can be dangerous. Their have been reports of people passing away at the top of Rainbow Falls and such. so I always say BE SAFE. Do all of these trails at YOUR OWN RISK!

As always, respect the earth. Respext nature. Be safe, and #LeaveNoTrace.
